Blue is the most common color used in direct mail, and it suggests trustworthiness and professionalism. Red conveys excitement and something new. Yellow promotes optimism.   3. Frequency also makes a difference. A good rule of thumb is three mail pieces can boost overall response. This is especially true if you’re using direct mail for business-to-business communications. Recipients tend to recall your last message stronger than the first, but often recall your first message after receiving the last one.
