When Printed Documents Are Still Better Than Digital

It’s not a secret that digital files have replaced printed documents in many instances. But there are still times where you still need an ink-on-paper record of a transaction, official form, or other experience. So where does it still make sense to use print?  Here are some examples: Official documents. These are things like vehicle […]

It Was A Planned Process

Pressure seal documents work because of a specialized co-adhesive that bonds during the final document printing process, without water or solvents. A pressure seal mailer is a one-part form that folds and seals to create a mail piece without requiring envelopes—the form itself also serves as the self-mailing envelope. Your information is printed and securely sealed, and it the staging and inserting steps, as well as the envelope costs associated with traditional mailing.

Pressure seal documents have been available for years, and have many uses, especially with secure documents such as checks, tax forms, privacy statements, and others. They can be produced cost effectively, and it’s easy to add individualized information to a single form and process it efficiently.

But pressure seal documents had some issues, until King Printing Solutions made an investment to advance the technology.

A New Step Forward In Business Forms

King Business Forms (now King Printing Solutions) was founded over 40 years ago. Originally, the company made multi-part forms that were used by thousands of businesses at that time. The company grew, but changes were on the horizon.

The advent of the digital era changed the market for business forms. Old style forms, like the multi-part ones, were becoming obsolete. New ideas like pressure seal documents were taking hold. But at that time, the co-adhesive used in pressure seal documents hadn’t been fully perfected. It would sometimes gap, or cause printers to jam. King Printing Solutions saw the potential, and decided to take action.

Driving Innovation

King Printing Solutions worked with an adhesives chemist, concentrating strictly on developing a better co-adhesive technology. The process took time. Numerous prototype formulations were tested and rejected because they didn’t deliver the security and ease of use necessary for effective printing. Ultimately, however, they prevailed.

They developed a proprietary co-adhesive that was ideally formulated for pressure seal forms.

Pressure Seal Adhesive

Later named KingSeal™, the new technology solved the problems previously associated with pressure seal documents. This new pressure seal adhesive allowed them to run faster and more efficiently. KingSeal co-adhesive could even be used with roll print products, adding even more processing speed.

King Printing Solutions’ KingSeal documents are available in a number of configurations. We can provide several standards, including z-fold check paper, eccentric z-fold, c-fold, and v-fold. The company can also customize forms to your specifications.
